BOOK AND PRODUCT RECOMMENDATIONS
Things get very confusing when you're wandering around the web looking for opportunities. Whether you're looking for a business opportunity, or information about a product you've seen, or simply trying to find out what books should be in your library finding the right products to fit your needs often becomes nearly impossible.
For those of you who know me and trust my judgement I want to help alleviate some of the angst involved in deciding who to trust, who to listen to, and what books are must reads. I've created these pages specifically to help you make those kinds of decisions.
It has often been said that one measure of the success an individual will have can be measured by looking at their library. I am a voracious reader, I average over 2 books a week, and as importantly I go through even more than that. So not only will I recommend specific books, but I will also tell which ones you can avoid so you don't waste your valuable time. Here are my 5 MUST HAVE IN YOUR LIBRARY RECOMMENDATIONS.
By far the best, most insightful book on business strategy I've ever read. This book is the inspiration for my program "HOW TO MAKE YOUR COMPETITION IRRELEVANT"
I've been giving presentations for more years than I care to remember and even with all that experience I fell into some bad habits. This book will help you break out of the mode of creating typical
"boring" presentations and will help you create far more engaging ones. I highly recommend this book to everyone who may ever need to use powerpoint to get their point across. This book is a pleasure to read and to simply look through. Devour it and learn from this great book.
I spent 20 years of my career creating and executing complex projects. I invented the TKT (Total Knowledge Transfer) method for project implementation and use the Theory Of Constraints project planning methodology. But this book opened up my eyes and made me look at projects in a whole new fashion. It is worth reading even if you don't develop projects. It will make you think in whole new ways.
Stephen Covey's seminal work on prioritization (notice I didn't say time management) is a must read. Learning how to get away from the tyranny of the urgent and focus on what is really important is critical to success both in business and in life. I re-read this book at least once a year.
Anyone who communicates with their customers should have a copy of this book on their desks. It is expensive but it is one of those reference books that you should have. Timeless principles set down by one of the greatest advertising experts who ever lived. If you are a copywriter or if you write sales copy for your business this is a book you cannot afford not to have.
